Chiara Morelli
Résumé
Chiara Morelli received her bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Milano-Bicocca University in 2019. Afterward, she continued her studies in KU Leuven, Belgium, where she attended the Biophysics, Biochemistry and Biotechnology master’s program. In between the two years of master’s degree, she worked as summer intern in DZNE, Tübingen, Germany, where she investigated the structural rearrangements of Parkinson-related LRRK2 using cross-linking mass spectrometry in the laboratory of Functional Neuroproteomics. Eventually, for her master’s thesis she joined the Switch Laboratory in VIB, Leuven. The goal of her project was to characterize with biophysical and biochemical methods the aggregation propensity of a peptide located in the core sequence of tau pathological amyloids. Once graduated in 2021, she joined the laboratory of professor Arosio to study the connection between liquid-liquid phase separation and amyloid aggregation in the context of human diseases.
